On the never-ending quest for the best birthday cakes in Singapore, we’ve rounded up unicorn cakes, halal cakes, ice cream cakes, birthday cakes with names, and much more!

Got a birthday party coming up, mama? Whether it’s for one of your discerning kiddos or something a bit more adult, there’s a huge range of birthday cakes in Singapore to choose from. We’ve separated the wheat from the chaff (or the eggs from the flour, as the case may be) to highlight some of our personal faves. Bear in mind that this list is not exhaustive, in fact, there are loads of home bakers across the island (many of them hard-working mamas) who can hook you up.

The team at Butter Studio put a local and playful spin on familiar home-style bakes, taking inspiration from their grandmothers’ recipes to create photo-worthy bakes that will make every birthday celebration picture perfect! We love their range of celebratory cupcakes and themed cakes perfect for the little ones and the young at heart! You can even choose from a menu of predesigned custom cakes that are readily available on their webstore if you’re time-pressed! Store pickups and island-wide delivery available.

Caked by Seraphina

We met mama Seraphina at a wedding recently (she made the cake – with pandan and chocolate raspberry layers – and it was totally YUMMO!). She launched her business last year to balance her passion for baking with being at home with her two daughters. Not only can Seraphina take any challenge you throw at her – delicate flowers, intricate piping, molded fondant – but her cake flavours go way beyond your basic chocolate and vanilla. Some of her 21 flavours on offer include White Chocolate Matcha, Black Sesame Honey Cake, Rose Lychee, Chocolate Salted Caramel, and even vegan options like Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Prices start from $55 for a 5-inch round cake (can serve up to 10 people). She also offers customised dessert tables starting from $700.

They also offer Eggless Cakes – well priced at $36.90! Other major pros: three convenient locations (in Jurong, Bukit Timah @ The Grandstand, and Seletar) and online ordering!
